Unless stated otherwise all the following are contested with teams of three players using Standard Stableford scoring using club handicaps.

Sixes
Based on the holes stroke index.
3 players score on holes 1 to 6
2 players score on holes 7 to 12
1 player scores on holes 13 to 18

Reverse Sixes
Based on the holes stroke index.
1 player scores on holes 1 to 6
2 players score on holes 7 to 12
3 players scores on holes 13 to 18
Waltz
Based on the hole number
1 player scores on hole 1
2 players score on hole 2
3 players score on hole 3
Repeat 1,2,3 order all the way round.
5-4-3
On each Par 5 - 3 players score.
On each Par 4 - 2 players score.
On each Par 3 - 1 player scores
2 from 3
On every hole, 2 best scores count toward team total.
3rd score is discounted
Reverse Waltz
Based on the hole number.
3 players score on hole 1.
2 players score on hole 2.
1 player scores on hole 3.
Repeat 1,2,3 order all the way round.
2 from 3 Multiplier
At each hole the 2 best scores are multiplied. eg Hole 1
Player A scores 3 pts
Player B scores 2 pts -
Player C scores 1 pt: 3 x 2 = 6pts
eg But Hole 2
Player A scores 3pts
Players B & C do not score
3 x 0 = 0pts
3-4-5
On each Par 3 - 3 players score.
On each Par 4 - 2 players score.
On each Par 5 - 1 player scores

Individual competitions using Stableford scoring
Take Two
Best two stableford scores on each hole to count.
Each player has five take twos.
A player can choose to take the position of another players drive or second shot, by using one of their take twos.
A take two can not be taken on the green
Treble Up
All 3 players score at every hole , but only the teams best nine holes count towards final team score

Bogey/Par
Individual Strokeplay competition. The gross score at each hole is recorded, the computer works out a "Minus", "Plus" or "Zero" score. - = Net Bogey or worse, o = Net Par, + = Better than net Par
Non Qualifying Fun Formats

Texas scramble
Played as 3 or 2 balls. All players Tee off & select one ball, ball is dropped & all play the next shot etc until hole is completed. (On the green, ball is marked & placed not dropped).
3 Balls receive 15% of total Handicaps (Each player must use 5 Tee shots & 3 are wild)
2 Balls receive 25% of total Handicaps (Each player must use 6 Tee shots & 6 are wild)
Plus one extra putt per hole (used in turn) so that 2 balls have the same number of putts as 3 balls.
Stroke play scoring with net score to one decimal place.
Florida scramble
As in standard Texas but all play and whoever’s shot is chosen does not play the next shot similarly until you reach the green when all players can putt.
Alternate scramble
As in standard Texas but players A B C all drive then if player B’s drive is selected then only players A & C drive on the next hole then if player C’s drive is selected then player A must take the next drive. Play continues in similar fashion.
3 Clubs & a Putter
Choose three clubs only and add a putter.
Bonus Ball
2 From 3 Stableford but on each hole one player has the bonus ball. Decide prior to play the order for the bonus ball E.G. Players A,C & B are selected for the first three holes as to who has the bonus ball and that sequence continues throughout the round. The player holding the bonus ball on each hole has his score doubled. Although it may be the player with the bonus ball scores nothing or less than the other players in which case the other two higher scores are taken.
Greensomes
Both Players Tee off, the best drive is selected then alternate shots, until holed out.
Stableford scoring. Handicap allowance 50% of combined Course Handicap. Using Two's Prize table.
American Foursomes
Both players play tee shots at each hole, then play a second with their partners ball. One ball is then selected and then play proceeds as in foursomes with the owner of the ball selected then playing the third shot. Handicap allowance is 50% of combined handicaps. Stableford Scoring
Ryder Cup
A match between two teams. Pairs from each team play each other for 4 points over 18 holes.
Holes 1 - 6 (Foursomes) - Players hit alternate shots at each hole until they hole out. One player tees off at the even holes and one on the odd holes.Handicap allowance is 50% of combined total of both players. One point awarded to the winning pair.
Holes 7 - 12 (Four ball better ball) - Handicap is 100% of the difference from the lowest Handicap. One point awarded to winning pair.
Holes 13 - 18 (Singles) - The two highest Handicappers play each other and the two lowest play each other. Full Handicap difference. One point for the winner of each singles match.

2 Ball Formats
Evens
On the even holes both players score - On the odds only one player scores.
Odds
On the odd holes both players score - On the evens only one player scores.
Nines
Stroke index 1-9 both players score - Stroke index 10-18 only one player scores.
1-2-3 Double Best
On the 1st hole one player scores - On 2nd hole two players score - On the third hole both players score but you double the best score. Repeat.
1-2-3 Double Worst
On the 1st hole one player scores - On 2nd hole two players score - On the third hole both players score but you double the worst score. Repeat.
Threes and Fives
On par 3's and 5's only one player scores. On par 4's both players score.
Texas scramble
Both players Tee off and select one ball, from where both play the next shot and so on until the hole is completed. Except on the green ball is placed in the exact place. The pair get 40% of playing Handicap total and each player must use at least 6 drives. Stroke play scoring with net score to one decimal place.
Cross Country
Sometimes the course is set up for a 14 hole cross country tournament. Rules will be issued on the day.
4 Ball Formats
3 from 4
On every hole, 3 best scores count toward team total. 4th score is discounted
Sixes
Based on the hole stroke index. 4 players score on stroke indexes 1 - 6,
3 players score on indexes 7 - 12 and 2 players score on indexes 13 - 18.
2 from 4 Multiplier
At each hole the 2 best scores are multiplied.
3-4-5
On each Par 3 - 4 players score. On each Par 4 - 3 players score. On each Par 5 - 2 player scores
5-4-3
On each Par 5 - 4 players score. On each Par 4 - 3 players score. On each Par 3 - 2 player scores
Four Up
All 4 players score at every hole , but only the teams best nine holes count towards final team score
Quickstep 1-2-3-4
Based on the hole number
1 player scores on hole 1, 2 players score on hole 2, 3 players score on hole 3, 4 players score on hole 4. Repeat 1,2,3,4 order until 17th & 18th when only 2 scores count.
Reverse Quickstep 1-2-3-4
Based on the hole number
4 players score on hole 1, 3 players score on hole 2, 2 players score on hole 3, 1 player scores on hole 4. Repeat 4,3,2,1 order until 17th & 18th when only 2 scores count.
All other formats remain the same
